Official South African distributor, Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has announced the immediate availability of OKI Printing Solutions’ first range of entry-level, cost-effective small office, home office (SOHO) printers. The C110n, C130n and MC160n offer economical, networkable printing underscored by Energy Star compliance for energy efficient output.

DCC’s South African distribution agreement was recently extended to include OKI’s entire range of printer solutions such dot matrix, mono, colour and multi-functional printers.

“The new OKI SOHO printers are competitively priced while still offering the functionality one expects from higher-end products, such as networkability and energy-efficient functionality. We believe the range will provide our resellers with products that will enable them to make valuable inroads in the bustling SOHO printer marketplace,” comments Linsay Narayanan, OKI printer product specialist at DCC.

Neil Rom, managing director of OKI says, “Printing is as important to today’s business as it ever has been, maybe more so. OKI continues to ensure that it is able to meet it customer’s needs by providing reliable printers and printing solutions that empower organisations to communicate more effectively.”

Looking at the printers, the Energy Star compliant MC160n is a networkable MFP that provides scan, print and fax functionality at 1200 x 600 dpi in addition to mono print speeds at 20 pages per minute (ppm).

I also produces colour pages at five ppm which is a valuable addition when printing presentations or colour documents for business meetings.

Document management is also simplified with a front colour LCD display and a variety of scanning options such as scan to e-mail, FTP, PC or USB.  For busier offices duplex printing and copying can be used which is a paper saving functionality that cuts down company overheads and, the paper capacity can be increased to 700 sheets. .

The C130n is a compact, networkable SOHO printer with the added convenience of low-cost professional colour and media flexibility and is ideal for small workgroups of two to three users that require easy-to-use in-house printing.

The C130n offers A4 mono printing at 20 ppm and A4 colour at five ppm as well as a second paper tray that increases paper capacity to 700 sheets. A 256MB memory and a processor speed of 400MHz ensures even the larger print jobs are handled with ease.

With duplex printing and Energy Star compliance features, businesses can rest assured that they are keeping their carbon footprint to a minimum.

Lastly, the C110 is a fast mono printer that offers low-cost professional colour printing when required. The compact printer is easy to install and has a 200 sheet paper capacity keeping user intervention to a minimum. It offers 19 pages per minute A4 mono and five pages per minute A4 colour and handles heavier paper weights for flexible media handling and being Energy Star compliant, keeps carbon footprint and energy bills to a minimum.

Martin Venter, business development manager from OKI also mentions that the C110, C130n and MC160n range also carries OKI’s industry leading 3 year warranty as standard. No other brand has this much confidence in their product.

OKI Printing Solutions is pleased to announce the appointment of Drive Control as a new local distributor.

“We’ve had  dealings  with Drive Control for many years ,” says Printacom sales and business development manager, Martin Venter, “and because of their focus on their supply-chain, they’re one of the nation’s leading distributors of branded IT and consumer electronics products.

“The company’s experience and expertise in reaching a portion of the reseller market that Printacom currently does not have access to was particularly encouraging,” he adds, “and this means that the relationship with Drive Control is sure to be a successful one,” Venter continues.

“This appointment is important for OKI because it allows us to expand our reach into new sectors of the market, to create heightened awareness around our brand and thus far, we’re very pleased with the results of this undertaking” he says.

Linsay Narayanan, OKI product specialist at Drive Control says the distribution deal has enabled the company to expand its current offering to resellers and bring dot matrix and line printers into its portfolio, a first for Drive Control.

“The addition of impact printers to our current offering will not only open up new opportunities for us, but will also allow our resellers to leverage these new markets,” she says.

“And since OKI printers carry three-year warranties and benefit from 11 dedicated repair centres across South Africa, with several smaller independent repair centers also able to service these ranges, the value proposition is strong,” she says.

“We look forward to a long-lasting working relationship with Drive Control, and trust that it will continue to be mutually-beneficial and fruitful for all those involved, including our resellers.” Venter concludes.
