Acer South Africa has announced the local availability of the Acer Altos G330 Mk2, offering an affordable entry-level server for small businesses and enterprise workgroups that won’t compromise on performance or value.
The Acer Altos G330 Mk2 is based on latest 64-bit Intel Pentium Processor and Intel Xeon 3000 Series processors and is available in a range of configurations to suite the business needs and budget of any enterprise.
This server range offers outstanding performance for applications such as small business application servers, workgroup file and print services, and shared Web access. The entry-level server packs a powerful punch despite being little more expensive than a high-end desktop machine, thanks to specifications such as the latest Quad Core processing technology, up to 8Gb of DDR II ECC RAM and up to 3Tb of hard drive storage space.
The Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology featured in the Acer Altos G330 Mk2 permits users to run at customised processor frequencies to minimise power consumption and overheating. Intel Virtualisation Technology, meanwhile, allows the user to run multiple operating system environments on a single system – ideal for SMBs looking to replace multiple PC servers used for different applications.

Acer EasyBuild simplifies the installation and set-up, by providing an intuitive GUI based process and by providing all relevant tools to set up the Acer Altos G330 Mk2. The Advanced Server Manager (ASM) optional software makes comprehensive systems management easy. ASM provides performance management and critical event management services to network administrators.
With up to four easy, hot-swap and RAID 0 and 1 support, the server also offers high levels of redundancy for businesses that can’t afford any downtime.
