Tarsus Technologies has announced the local availability of Lenovo’s IdeaPad S10-3t, the multitouch convertible tablet that straddles both the netbook and the tablet world, and is intended to meet the requirements of both market segments.

“The IdeaPad is more than a 10-inch netbook for the tech-conscious mobile businessperson. It’s intended to perform business, entertainment, leisure and communication related tasks – offering the practicality of a netbook, and the ultra-portability of a tablet,” says Alexi Hume, Lenovo product manager at Tarsus Technologies.

“To see the true potential of the device, all you need to do is swivel its capacitive multi-touch display to turn it into a responsive, ultra-slim slate device that boasts 10.1-inches of high-definition viewing real estate. It is LED-backlit with 16:9 widescreen resolution that features a 180° screen rotation, giving the perfect perspective from just about every angle,” she continues.

Additionally, the Lenovo NaturalTouch panel delivers responsive fingertip touch technology and offers access to, and interaction with, a wide range of multimedia touch-optimised applications, and for those moments when a touch screen is not suitable, the user is offered all the convenience that comes with having access to a full-sized physical keyboard.

The IdeaPad is a whiz for any kind of networking. When it comes to file-sharing,  DirectShare technology allows the user to effortlessly synchronise and share with other notebooks, without connecting to the Internet.

“The technology that delivers all of this functionality is neatly buried under the IdeaPad’s hood. And if you take a look on the inside you’ll see either an Intel Atom N470 processor that runs at 1.83GHz, or a N450 processor that runs at 1.66GHz, with an Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics card and you’ll find up to 320GB of hard drive space, which, when combined with a 667MHz FSB and a 2GB RAM, means that there’s both sufficient capacity to store multimedia files, like movies and music and sufficient system bandwidth to ensure smooth playback of these assets,” Hume adds.

Lenovo has shown that it’s capable of delivering a device that’s ultra-portable, ultra-capable, and ultra-reliable. And thanks to the Active Protection System and OneKey Rescue System, your hard drive and data are more secure than ever before.

“The IdeaPad offers the perfect balance between business and entertainment, convenience and practicality. It is to this end that Tarsus has no doubt that this device will be embraced by users, resellers and retailers alike,” Hume concludes.
